St. Patty's Day!!

Oh how I love St. Patty's Day. It is such a fun holiday! D and I started a couple of weeks ago by printing out shamrocks and a couple other coloring sheets from www.familyfun.com. This morning I started our corn beef, potatoes, and cabbage in our crock pot. I started cooking my corn beef in a crock pot, the year James and I lived with his family. We fell in love with it fast. It cooks all day, and it so easy and so delicious!!


Dyllan and I made gold out of jello and green shamrock cookies. For lunch I made Dyllan and I shamrock peanut butter sandwiches with zucchini and celery, and of course served Dyllan's on a green plate. Of course Dyllan and I where both in green all day long. For dinner we made freshly squeezed limeade and had our yummy corn beef. Which I was waiting all day for. After dinner we went on a nice much needed walk. He is even wearing green pj's right now, LOL!! Dyllan and I had a wonderful St. Patty's Day. We hope your families did as well!! What are some of your families St. Patty's Day traditions?

CVS Deals 2-24-10

Highway Patrols!!

I love my Marriage and Family class, but tonight was the first night of small groups. I had no idea it was pretty much going to be group counseling. It was ok. I'm sure it will get much better, but I love the class. I would recommend anyone taking the class. I think with the small groups I will learn how to open up with more people better. I think that makes since. LOL! The most exciting part of my day was getting pulled over this evening. Funny I know.

I was driving home from school, nearing my exit to get off the freeway. I started to get over, and then the damn car wouldn't let me over. You know when the car won’t speed up or slow down? Yeah that's what was happening. Finally he realized I was trying to get over, and slowed down. That is when I realized it was a Highway Patrol. Then he proceeds to follow me and pulls me over. So I didn't know going 60 MPH was slow, but according to the Highway Patrol it was. And he thought I was on my cell phone, but really I was on my Bluetooth. All is good, I felt kind of bad for him because He seemed bad that he had made a mistake!
So it is said that the highlight of my day was getting pulled over and the Highway Patrol Office not really having a clue what to say. LOL. I hope you enjoyed!

My wonderful boyfriend, James Edward Brooks, sent me this picture the other day. He is starting to train for his twelve month deployment to Iraq, with the Army. I am choosing this picture and him on this Fingerprint Friday because he could be home helping his Dad with his Mom's lung cancer, (that she was diagnosed with a week after he left for Hawaii.) He could get out and come home, but he is staying to do what he feels like he needs to do for our country. I am very proud of him and worry about him everyday. I know he will be just fine with his fast approaching deployment. I can not wait to see him when he comes home, and I am sure I will be writing many more blogs about him here soon.

I took a funny picture of my cousin Matt, who has been a rock in my life since I was a child. We are more like siblings then cousins. Sadly we do not spend as much time together, as we did when we where kids, but every time we do we always have a wonderful time. My cousin Matt was the star football player for Taft High all through high school, and already had many scholarship opportunities. When he was 16 he found out he was going to be a father. Instead of ditching out on his child's life, he quit the football team and got a full time job to take care of his family. I am very proud of the man my cousin as become. He has a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. It is a blessing to see him with his children, and it is quit funny how much I see him in his son Zack. He however does not think it is always that funny. He also already has the gun ready when Miss Alexis Ann brings the first boy over. Now it is amazing to be able to watch our children play together! I love them with all of my heart!
